Super excited to be going to Taiwan and then onto Japan — any and all recs welcome, as well as any people I should meet :) Would love to make it to Scandinavia/Hawaii/Kenya/Jamaica at some point too as well as more domestic travels in Brazil 🌴
Thank you so much, I'd love that! Any coffee shops/work spaces, and of course food is a big priority! Also any local brands/art I should check out would be awesome. My first time, so very excited :)
I just got back from Japan, and must say, if anyone is able to go, it’s one of the best places to visit. The culture, food, people, and overall cleanliness, is incomparable to anywhere else in the world.
– Spent three days in Tokyo, stayed in Ginza and mainly hung out in Shibuya (great shopping and food). Had the best meal ever at Butagumi (pork katsu).
– Spent two days in Kyoto, stayed at the Ace Hotel (highly recommend), visited the Bamboo Forest and the Fushimi Inari Shrine (famous Orange Gates). Had a great tea and toast experience at Rokuyosha.
Traveling to NYC, California, Barcelona, and more this year – less because I need so badly to see these places than that this year I have someone I want to see it all with.
I just got back from Seoul, which is quickly becoming a favourite place. As for new places I’d like to go this year, I think it’s got to be finally ticking somewhere off in South America. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears!
Sadly only done transit in Seoul. As for South America, you know I have to say Brazil — and can provide every rec under the sun if you make the trip.
I also loved Argentina, spent a few weeks going between Buenos Aires/Mendoza/Patagonia. Mendoza especially was incredible especially if you're into wine tasting (it's where the vineyards are), we even rode horses between them... Beautiful views of the Andes and delicious steak.
Personally would love to make it to Colombia and also do north eastern Brazil!
@Marty My app A Day With curates local gems from the coolest locals in the know. Cocktail bars from mixologists, pinball bars from a national pinball champion, etc.
I'd love to get some Palm Report representation on there and have some ideas. If you're open to this, could you reach out to me at garrett@adaywith.co ?
I spent a month and a half there in summer 2022. Must recommend Bar Brutal for its delicious natural wines and great food, spent many lovely evenings there.
Also: Sandwich Club Barcelona has a great vibe and amazing pastrami, Mandarosso is a cosy, authentic Italian restaurant, and Bar del Pla for tapas of course!
Yes galleries and if there’s any beach thing - not sure I’ll be paying for a hotel on the beach but like in Nice years ago they had beach clubs requiring admission fees with food service etc. Haven’t been to a beach in Europe since the 2000s..
I went for drinks at the W Hotel along the beach which was nice but otherwise was pretty relaxed, sure you'll run into that type of thing just by taking a stroll along Barceloneta :)

Seoul is very cool, highly recommended. Great art and culture, food and nightlife. I’m certainly into wine so Mendoza sounds like a great shout!
