My most joyful apps ✨

• Obligatory Poolsuite FM shout-out... (iOS & Mac)

• Endel (generative soundscapes for relaxation and concentration) - https://endel.io/

• Cosmos (a beautiful app for curating & discovering inspiration imagery) - https://cosmos.so/

• Also loving the Substack app for iOS. Is Substack the new Twitter?

I love you Poolsuite. The Palm Report makes my day, every time. In this edition, I particularly enjoyed the section mentioning, albeit briefly, Vacation® brand candles. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say, Vacation® is by far the most clever and thoughtfully produced sunscreen brand broadly distributed in the United States of America. Great work!

Need a winter themed poolsuite. Something related to a ski chalet or something.

Slopes. Best designed iOS app I've ever used. Reminds me of cosy chalets, snowy adventures and questionable fondue

Have you guys heard of this delightful app called A Day With - Authentic travel advice from friends and locals? It's a new startup making it really easy for getting local insights on places instead of wandering between tourist traps. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/a-day-with/id1597930302?platform=iphone

The most joyful app for me right now is Any Distance by far! Everything about that interface could have been done with so little flair and style but it’s exactly the opposite. Very fun from Luke and team. http://anydistance.club

- Are.na: inspiring company and product

- Duolingo: educational, entertaining, and great visual design

- Telegram: I don’t use it often but find the animations and visuals somewhat whimsical

- wikipedia: Love the image of the day and ‘day in history’ widgets

- nouns app: also fun to see the noun of the day in a widget :)

Stardew Valley is definitely the app that sparks the most joy for me. The art, music, atmosphere are perfection. I'm not much of a gamer, but this one totally altered my perception of what's possible.

The most joyful iOS app I’m using right now is a game, Dicey Dungeons.

It costs $5 and has no in-app purchases, no loot boxes, etc. It’s devilishly hard, well written, delightfully designed, and quite rewarding!

On my laptop, I enjoy Unsplash for Mac, so that I always have a cool new desktop background.

I love See Saw - Gallery Guide for finding cool art shows in NYC and LA (they have other cities as well)
