Lately, I've realized the battleground of health is where everything is won, or subsequently lost. Forging habits that make you more ALIVE means a tangible benefit felt in every facet of life. You become more creative. You have greater dinner table conversations. You get more work done.
This does not mean giving up all vices & living like a saint, but curating a lifestyle where it's all so effortless. Where you're doing *just* enough good. Eating food that nourishes your soul. Pushing your body to its limits. Recuperating. Engaging in Deep Leisure.
Eventually, feeling superhuman with a clear zen mind will just be a happy consequence of your daily actions 💥
I have a few! "Breathe love" has been my mantra for a long time. (I'd say 20 yrs but I don't understand how I can be that old!) It reminds me to tune into the love that surrounds me, soak it up, and put it back out into the world.
Lately, I've been using "Smooth like water" to shift myself in a "go with the flow" mindset when I start to feel rushed or overwhelmed.
Another that I've adopted this year from my therapist is, "I don't fucking care." Haha now, I know that sounds harsh but the issues with which she'd been supporting me were overthinking and being overly concerned about making sure that everyone else's feelings and needs were met at all times, even if it meant burning myself out or worrying about things no one else even noticed. "I don't fucking care" has freed me from that and done it in a simple way that makes me smile. It doesn't mean be heartless....it's more about setting a boundary with myself.
"70 Summers"
That's what we get if we're lucky.
Some get more, many get fewer.
Live them, and be kinder than necessary to others.
“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”
― Albert Camus
Dig the photog feature. I was left wanting the titular cocktail recipe, so here’s a version from Patrón:
INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz Patrón Añejo
5 oz Club soda
+ Orange twist
METHOD
Fill a highball or collins glass with ice, the clearest and coldest available.
Add Patrón Añejo and club soda, stir gently from the bottom up.
Garnish with an expressed peel of orange.
You can do it like it's a great weight on you, or you can do it like it's part of the dance - Ram Dass
Appreciate the feature 🍸

"Nothing matters"; which sounds incredibly depressing, but in reality helps me figure out how to stop wasting time and do more of what matters to me.

I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not complete this last one
but I give myself to it.
I circle around God, around the ancient tower.
I've been circling for thousands of years
and I still don't know: am I a falcon,
a storm, or a great song?
—Rainer Maria Rilke
best issue so far!
